We know how worried parents are about the safety and well-being of their children in an emergency. At all Rainbow Chimes’ sites, we have a comprehensive plan in place to cover both evacuation and shelter-in-place types of situations. (Employer-sponsored satellite sites follow emergency plans established for those locations.)

Per NYS regulations, we conduct a fire safety / evacuation drill every month. Parents provide each child with a small, labeled backpack with a flashlight, change of clothes, non-perishable snacks, bottled water, and a comfort item or family photograph from home. An emergency authorization form with family contact numbers is also kept in the backpack, in case we ever need to evacuate the Center.

In the event an emergency ever prevents parents from retrieving their children as usual, please be assured that we would stay with them until an authorized pick-up is made. Parents need to keep us aware of any phone number or work address changes so that we may reach them in the event of an emergency.
